Mom’s Day local gift guide
Mother’s Day is just a few days away (Sunday, May 10th, for those of us who need a friendly nudge). But thanks to these local businesses, even last minute shoppers can find great gifts for the moms on their list. Who says it’s too late to become mom’s favorite?
Foodie Mom
- Kitchen Kaboodle – She may bake you more cookies if you bribe her with kitchen gadgets.
- Tait Farm Foods – Find something for her every craving: scone and pancake mixes, dips, sauces, preserves and more. (A favorite: Harrison’s Fig and Olive Relish…it’s delicious!)
Organized Mom
- The Nittany Quill – What message to send the mother-in-law? Stationery and cards are always a safe bet.
- SPACES Design Center– Splurge on some décor for the home.
Pampered Mom
- St. Joseph Institute – What woman doesn’t want a massage or spa day?
- Gracienne Shoe Designer – Because she can’t have too many shoes, try a pair by a local designer.
Outdoor/Adventure Mom
- Haven Shoes – A mom in need of inspiration will find it here: running shoes of all styles, and socks and supplies to make the outdoor experience more comfortable.
- Appalachian Outdoors – Everything she needs for her next adventure.
Gardener Mom
- Sammis Greenhouse – Tickle her green thumb with a trip to the greenhouse.
- College Gardens – Help make her yard a personal oasis.
Crafty Mom
- Stitch Your Art Out – Speak to the Martha in her with yarn, fabric and classes offered throughout the year.
- Creative Oasis– C’mon, how many times can you send flowers? Try classes in sculpture, pottery, stained glass, drawing, painting and more.
